Hawks Ink LB Tressor Baptiste to Future/Reserves Contract

The Seahawks have inked first-year linebacker Tressor Baptiste to a three-year “Reserve/Futures” contract.

Baptiste was on the Seahawks’ radar screen during the draft and was one of eight free agent linebackers that worked out for the team on October 17, but was not offered a contract. Baptiste took a physical and signed a standard three-year contract with the team on Wednesday.

Undrafted out of Division II Texas A&M-Kingsville, the 6-foot, 230-pound Baptiste began his college career at Lackawanna Community College (Pennsylvania) before transferring to Hofstra in 2009. The Pride dropped football after Baptiste’s only season with the program, forcing him to transfer to a Division II school. In 12 games at Texas A&M-Kingsville, Baptiste recorded 66 tackles, including eight for a loss and a share of a quarterback sack, with two passes defensed and three forced fumbles.
