While the Seahawks appear to have moved on from Jadeveon Clowney, who wants more than they’re willing to pay, the team has interest in two veteran free agent pass rushers: LB Clay Matthews and DE Everson Griffen.
Michael Silver of NFL Network reports. Silver believes a deal could happen soon.
Both players would give a boost to the Seahawks pass rush, but at the same time it’s going to come down to how much both players would demand as to who the Hawks would likely go after.
It sounds like Matthews is asking to break the bank, or else a player with his track record would be signed already.
As for Griffen, he’s been linked to the Seahawks before, as it was reported that he was on their radar back in March but nothing ever happened.
It’s not the first time Griffen has been linked with the Seahawks. There was word of mutual interest in late March, but nothing ever materialized beyond those reports.
A report also says that the Green Bay Packers had interest in Griffen.
