New Seahawks WR Josh Gordon Passes Physical; ‘Ready to Go’

The newest weapon in the Seahawks offense is good to go, as the Seahawks announced that wide receiver Josh Gordon passed his physical with the team and has been medically cleared to participate Thursday when the team returns to practice.

All signs point to the newest wide out being available when the Seahawks play the 49ers in a key NFC West game on Monday night.

“He’s ready to go,” coach Pete Carroll said Monday.

“Thursday, when we get rolling again, he’ll be going. He’s in the building studying and all that, getting ready. So we’ll see how it goes.”

The team inked Gordon after he was released by the Patriots after coming off the injured list with a knee injury.

While there’s a sense of excitement about Gordon joining the roster, the team is taking more of a ‘wait and see’ approach at the impact he will have on the roster.

“I’m telling you I’m just waiting and seeing,” Carroll said.

“I’ve seen him on film. He looks pretty special. He’s got a good history of making plays and all that, but I want to see him when he mixes with our guys and really just take it one step at a time with no expectations of how much he would contribute or play or whatever. I’m just going to see what happens.”

If he can open up the passing game already more for MVP candidate quarterback Russell Wilson, then Gordon will be more than worth the risk.
