Report: Chris Carson Still Ahead of Rashaad Penny for the Seahawks Lead Back Job

Third-year player Chris Carson “continues to look like the best running back” on the Seattle Seahawks roster according to Michael Shawn-Dugar of The Athletic.
Originally a seventh-round pick out of Oklahoma State in 2017, Carson’s rookie season was derailed by injury but he broke out in a big way in 2018 with 1,151 yards and nine touchdowns in 14 games.

2018 first-round pick Rashaad Penny has also looked good this summer though in Shawn-Dugar estimation, “he’s just not at the same level as Carson right now.”

Penny has time to make up ground with the regular season still over a month away, but at present, Carson seems to have a fairly comfortable lead in Seattle’s backfield race.
