Seahawks CB Richard Sherman Telling Teammates Goodbye According to Ian Rapoport

Iconic Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has reportedly been telling teammates goodbye in the past 24 hours, telling them he does not expect to play for the Seahawks in 2018 according to Ian Rapoport of

Rapoport adds that “nothing is set in stone” regarding Sherman’s future but he is scheduled to meet with head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider Wednesday afternoon.

Turning 30 years old at the end of March, Sherman missed the first regular season games of his seven-year NFL career in 2017 when he went down with a torn Achilles in Week 7 and he underwent a “minor clean-up on the other Achilles this offseason. Sherman is under contract through 2018 but releasing him would clear $11 million in cap space for a franchise making major changes to their defense. The glory days of the Legion of Boom appear to be over.
