Seahawks Could Lose Second-Round Pick for Not Disclosing Sherman Injury

Chris Mortensen of ESPN is reporting that the Seahawks could be docked a second-round pick for failing to disclose Richard Sherman’s MCL injury.

Ouch. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has to be regretting his attempts to explain Sherman’s diminished play in 2016 by admitting to the injury.

What the Seahawks did is blatantly against the rules, but a second-rounder would be an extraordinarily severe punishment considering that most teams play at least minor games with their injury reports. The Seahawks are already missing a 2017 fifth-rounder for illegal offseason practice activity.
