Don’t Panic, Seattle Is Still Right In The Super Bowl Mix

Seattle Seahawks v Miami Dolphins

The Seattle Seahawks have stumbled through the early stages of the season but supporters shouldn’t hit the panic button just yet. Pete Carroll’s men scraped past the Miami Dolphins in their season opener at CenturyLink Field before falling short in a very defensive encounter with the Los Angeles Rams.

However, things are about to get easier for the Seahawks – and here is why. Ultimately, the Dolphins and the Rams both possess two exceptional defensive units. Seattle’s makeshift offensive line struggled to cope with the constant pressure from Miami’s dominant front seven whilst Los Angeles’ ball-hawking secondary seems to raise their game against the Seahawks.

In fact, the Rams have won four of the last five divisional clashes with Seattle; so it wasn’t a huge surprise to see Russell Wilson and co fall short against the Rams. But Seahawks fans should cast their minds back to the last couple of years – Seattle ALWAYS start slowly. It is much better to start poorly and pick up form in the second half of the season than to start quickly and tail off. After all, you want to be at your best for the postseason…

Let’s be honest, Wilson is a magician. He is one of the best quarterbacks in the National Football League and he is one of the main reasons for Seattle’s success in recent times. To be fair, the Legion of Boom were perhaps the key factor in their NFC dominance but Wilson’s ability to perform a Houdini act outside the pocket is unrivalled on the big stage.

Some believe that Aaron Rodgers is the best in the business, others say Cam Newton but the 12’s KNOW that Russell Wilson is the man. If you need a clutch drive, he will go and get the win – the Seahawks have snatched victory from the jaws of defeat on a number of occasions; largely because of Wilson’s unique talent to keep plays alive when all hope is lost.

As of September 22nd, the Seahawks are priced at 10/1 to win the Super Bowl this year and bettors will be keeping an eye on this week’s Betway odds. In the longer term, Pete Carroll’s side will be confident of bringing the title back to Seattle. The Jimmy Graham project is yet to reap the full rewards but the likes of Doug Baldwin, Tyler Lockett and Jermaine Kearse are all potent threats in the passing game. Mix that in with Thomas Rawls and Christian Michael out of the backfield and you have a real recipe for points.

It hasn’t been the best of starts but Seattle are just getting warmed up; Carroll will almost certainly get them riled up as the season goes on. Marshawn Lynch is no more but the Seahawks are still a solid, organized football team and another Super Bowl appearance beckons if they can find consistency on offense. Put your faith in Russell Wilson and he will deliver; just stay calm and don’t panic. Russ has got this…
