Seahawks Win First Preseason Game Against Chiefs

Seahawks-Chiefs-preseason

Having been defeated in the Divisional Play-offs by the Carolina Panthers last time around, Head Coach Pete Carroll will be looking to ensure his Seattle Seahawks team make a quick start to NFL life this year. The Seahawks certainly demonstrated that their off-season work has paid off, with a 17-16 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in their opening pre-season fixture. In what was a tight game at Arrowhead Stadium, rookie quarterback Trevone Boykin starred, with the 22-year-old finding wide receiver Tanner McEvoy for a 37-yard touchdown to pull his side level in the closing stages. As a result, Seattle were able to go for an additional two points, with running back Troymaine Pope sealing victory with the last play of the game. With any number of teams looking to mount a serious challenge in the standings this year, NFL betting explained at BettingSports.com is certainly worth a look at.

With some questioning the credentials of the Seahawks offensive line in the off-season, Carroll stated post-match just how happy he was with his team’s performance, with the likes of J’Marcus Webb, Mark Glowinski, Justin Britt and Germain Ifedi all impressing against the Chiefs. With Carroll needing to watch the game back again before making a full assessment of his team’s performance, such displays certainly back up the Seahawks as the favourites for the NFC title this year, as seen at BettingSports.com. BettingSports.com offer the lowdown on all the latest NFL action, with the Seahawks looking set for another big season.

With just a little under a month until the Seahawks season opener against the Miami Dolphins at the Century Link Field, there is still improvements to be made. However, with best odds of 8/1 from BettingSports.com to reach the Super bowl in 2017, the position of strongside linebacker is perhaps one of the only remaining questions for supporters ahead of the new season. With Bruce Irvin no longer around, it remains to be seen who will gain a starting jersey alongside Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright. Eric Pinkins offers exceptional speed and athleticism, while Cassius Marsh and Kevin Pierre-Louis offer something a little different for Coach Carroll.

The Seahawks will now travel back to Seattle, before returning to work for ‘Competition Wednesday’ ahead of their second pre-season game against the Minnesota Vikings on August 18.
