Why is there any question who the QB will be?

This season the Seahawks can gain alot of ground and surprise alot of people with the correct choice at Quarterback. As a long time Seahawks fan, I was very excited they were able to sign Matt Flynn, watching  Tarvaris Jackson last year was very frustrating. Jackson did show signs of improvement as the season went on but his lack of running the offense when the play was breaking down became  hard to watch. I began to think if Sidney Rice wasn’t open then he was going to just throw the ball away.

I was very impressed with Flynn and his passing accuracy against the Detroit Lions in week 17,   He went 31-44 480 yards and 6 tds. The way he spread the ball around, passing to different receivers caught my attention. Flynn can be very successful in the Seahawks offense since they have 3 good receivers that are capable of making plays. So why not make him the starter and make Jackson the back up? There is no way you sign Flynn and he doesn’t start. We have a better chance in my opinion of winning with Flynn than with Jackson.

Why would you want anything less than a full blown QB competition? First off a competition will bring out the best in all three of our QB’s including Flynn. Second Jackson played fairly well last year considering everything he went through. A young new offensive line, limited learning time for one of the youngest teams in the nfl (due to lockout), and fighting through an injury that would have sidelined most. That said he has areas where he needs to improve for sure but, why give him a reason not to work his hardest?

PC did an amazing job over the last 2 season’s with rebuilding our team. I for one am going to have trust that he will choose the best player based on what he see’s on the field.

    Go Hawks!

I agree and believe in a QB competition but I think its time to move on from Jackson, I just don’t think Jackson will never be a quality starter in this league. I would bring in someone else to compete with Flynn.

Well PC did! Enter Russle Wilson…

However, I think Jackson is better than everyone is saying. Say what you want but, he took over a new team with alot of new players. He didn’t have the advantage of a full off season to work out the kinks. He played through injury and still nearly played us into a playoff spot.

Bottom line is Jackson will improve there is no doubt. Can he win the QB race in Seatle? Yes I think he can. That said I am not pulling for any one QB by name. May the best QB make it to the starting spot.

        Go Hawks!

We will never know Carroll’s exact motives but we can trust him. And if Wilson can play at a level near what he played in college, and wins the job, so be it.I’d put my money on Flynn though.
