Self-examination: Tarvaris Jackson grades himself – “F”

Seahawks quarterback Tarvaris Jackson would give himself an ‘F’ if he had to grade himself according to Percy Allen of the Seattle Times.

“We’re a 2-5 team, and a quarterback’s (job) is to help the team win as much as possible,” he said. “We’ve still got a lot of work to do, but 2-5 is failing. So I guess I got an F right now.”

“We’re getting better,” Jackson said. “We’re growing, and I’m feeling more and more comfortable each week. And the guys are feeling more and more comfortable in me. And the coach is gaining more trust in me.

“So that’s good. My whole thing is I’m always about wins. That’s what I really pride myself in, and that’s what all quarterbacks should be judged on. That’s what I want to be judged on, so right now 2-5 is not going to get the job done.”

  1. Dennis says:

I really like Tavaris’ attitude and the fact that he seems to be getting better. Nothing more that we could ask of him.

Actually Dennis, there’s a lot more we could ask from him. We’re 2-5. Yes, he’s getting better. No, he’s not as bad as most people thought he would be (I was a Tarvaris believer when we got him. I had high hopes for this team, and now I want Barkley/Luck) but he’s still not good enough. We have a talented team, and our offense has an amazing recieving corps with Rice, Williams, Baldwin, and Miller. Those are four (two elite/far above average, and two a bit above average) recievers to spread the ball around. There’s no reason we should have lost the game against the Bengals.

I would like to say, however, that it is refreshing to see a fellow true Seahawks fan that isn’t fairweather fan, giving up on the Hawks because they’re not doing great. Even if we don’t see eye to eye on all things, we both have our love for the Hawks, in all their flaws, in common! Cheers!
