Seahawks DE Bryant fined $15K

Seahawks defensive end Red Bryant was fined $15,000 after he was disqualified for head-butting Browns tight end Alex Smith during the fourth quarter of the team’s 6-3 loss on Sunday, Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports.

Bryant’s penalty came after the Seahawks had stopped Browns running back Montario Hardesty for no gain on a 3rd-and-7 play. The disqualification gave the Browns a first down, thus allowing them to run out the clock with a pair of kneel downs.

The penalty also overshadowed a solid performance by the former Aggie, who had a season-high four tackles, picked up a half a quarterback sack, had a pass defensed and blocked a pair of field goal attempts.
