Seahawks OG Gallery out four-to-six-weeks with groin injury

Seahawks left guard Robert Gallery will be sidelined four-to-six weeks after re-injuring his groin that will require surgery, head coach Pete Carroll announced on Monday.

Gallery, who was out of action for the season-opening loss to the 49ers with a knee injury, played through the groin injury during Sunday’s 24-0 shutout loss to the Steelers at Heinz Field.

Veteran guard Paul McQuistan is expected to replace Gallery in the starting lineup. McQuistan played for offensive line coach Tom Cable with the Raiders, and has started 12 of his 37 contests in the NFL. Sunday’s home-opener against the division rival Cardinals would mark McQuistan’s first NFL start since the 2007 campaign.

The Seahawks had started 2011 first-round pick James Carpenter at left guard in the season-opener, but Carroll said the plan is to keep him at right tackle.

The 31-year-old Gallery was signed to a three-year, $15 million contract in free agency.

I think with this loss of gallery, the pathetic play of the indecisive t. jackson, and poor offensive play calling– the seahawks are now destined for 3-13 record.

The above man is very wise indeed people.

Two words, and you already know what they are..

Look at our schedule again. I see two *possible* wins against the Browns and Bengals in weeks 7 and 8 respectively. A miracle might happen where they beat the 49ers or the Cowboys later in the year, but then why would they do that when they have such an amazing shot at Luck?

My prediction is 1-15 at best.

lol andrew! I think spectre, the seahawks will win at LEAST 3 games maybe upto 5 if they are lucky. Seattle still has some talent on defense…plus who know who will play Qback in a couple weeks
