Seahawks Sidney Rice Has Torn Labrum: This is a Good Thing

What? Are you crazy?

Losing the biggest free agent prize to a potential torn labrum can’t be a good thing can it?

Uhm, yes it can.

This injury is going to create a firestorm and you know what people, chill out.

Yeah sure, on paper this looks bad for this season, after signing a 5 year, $41 million deal anyone in their right mind would assume a contract like that means you need to come in and make an immediate impact.

I pose this: What could Rice possibly do to overcome the offensive effort from today? Tarvaris Jackson didn’t cross mid-field until the fourth quarter. Sure he completed 20/29 passes, but some of you might’ve been able to complete some of those three yard dinks he threw.

And I repeat, Tarvaris Jackson didn’t cross mid-field until the fourth quarter.

33-17 and 24-0, either the Seahawks have almost been doubled up or completely manhandled by both a mediocre and a good opponent. What would be the point of rushing a young, technically just reaching his prime 24 year old receiver back?

None, nada, if I were Pete Carroll, I would just keep him out the entire season

From having a permanently-partially torn Lat (latissmus dorsi), and playing through sports with it, I can tell you a thing or two about playing with a torn muscle.

Sure you can play through them, but it’s incredibly painful and there is a chance that you can do more damage to it. This isn’t an injury where there’s no possible way it can get worse.

The eye is clearly on the future, so why would you want to put your No. 1 receiver back into the gameplan when the object is to lose more?

Uncle Pete is salivating over having Andrew Luck, Matt Barkley, or Landry Jones in at quarterback, if you disagree, take it from the man himself in a veiled sense. How many times after getting whupped can a coaching staff preach about time and patience with a new and young team?

Unfortunately, it appears the Seahawks are going to need to be especially awful to land the No. 1 selection, because there is no worse NFL team then the Kansas City Chiefs right now.

Oh my goodness, what a demolition… you thought 24-0 was bad? Try 48-3… Go Lions! I feel like I can wear the Lions jersey I own without shame!

Sure the Chiefs have Matt Cassel, but can you honestly say that anyone who holds that No. 1 selection isn’t going to consider the best quarterback prospect of an era; especially with the new rookie cap?

By all means 12th Man, the Seahawks are a frontrunner in the Andrew Luck derby, take it in stride, accept the regular season is going to suck, and that the off-season is going to kick ass when everyone’s pissed were getting the quarterback they wish they had for the next 15 years.

This was an embarrassment for which i completely agree-it is inexcusable for this seattle team to not even cross mid-field till the 4th qtr!! That is pathetic. Players and coaches should be blamed. We play the cardinals and their porous defense next week…but If Seattle can’t play a decent game next week on offense i hope they boo the sh*t out of the seahawks…This is painful for a fan to watch

  2. Spectre48 says:

Kenny, how can you advocate booing your own team, no matter the situation? That’s a very sad thing to read from another Seahawks fan.

  3. Andrew Auger says:

Well Spectre48, if you support the product that is being put on the field, by all means tell the Seahawks they’re doing a terrific job. Go right up to Tarvaris Jackson and the offensive line and say “Hey guys just want to let you know you’ve played great the past couple weeks!”

  4. Kenny says:

Spectre, i normally wouldn’t advocating booing your own team even at home, but scoring zero points at the half in back to back games!! thats really pathetic… i now know with all the crazy roster moves carroll has made there would be some growing pains…but the ineptness of this offense is sickening to watch…

  5. Spectre48 says:

Well, I don’t like Tarvaris Jackson, nor do I think the Seahawks are doing good at all. Then again, I don’t think they want to do good either. This year will be a bust, that’s a given. If we’re going to suck, why not suck like champs? The ineptness may not be all that it appears to be.
