Rumor: Brett Favre Interested In Seahawks, Sigh…

I’m hesitant to even write about this, but there’s nothing really going on and it caught me off guard. Unfortunately it makes sense to.

Apparently “retired retired retired” quarterback Brett Favre reached out to the Seattle Seahawks to see if they were interested in bringing him in to be their starter in 2011.

The only reason I am even giving this rumor merit is because I actually would rather have Brett Favre at quarterback then Charlie Whitehurst. Yes, if it came down to it, he is the better player and would give them a better chance to win in 2011.

Call this a long shot, a hail mary if it did happen, and most likely a last resort of desperation for both sides.

Here is the excerpt:

“There was a rumor making the rounds last week that Favre had approached the Seahawks about possibly becoming the successor to Matt Hasselbeck, a move that makes sense given the arrival of former Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell as offensive coordinator.  The Seahawks supposedly declined.  (The Seahawks privately are denying that any of this happened.)”

There has been 0 reports about any interest in Favre to Seattle. Please delete this rumor, it’s not true and don’t try to create a false rumor. It’s called Yellow Journalism.

Only true confirmed rumors are: Kevin Kolb, Tarvaris Jackson, Matt Hasselbeck and Matt Leinart.

I would like to have seen a link with this rumor if it’s true.

Also, bro, straight up, apologies about just continuing to stalk you the last several years I can’t control the urge to monitor your online activity and follow you to every publication you write for. I hope you will accept my apology and know that I am seeking treatment for my condition.

I like the sound of that, I accept your apology Lars. Hopefully we can part ways here and you won’t burn through a dozen IP addresses trying to contact me.
