Third Rounder For Kyle Orton? Pull The Trigger Seattle

Everyone is talking about Kevin Kolb to the Arizona Cardinals, and potentially, the Seattle Seahawks. I really don’t want to be the team that lavishes an unknown product with a so-far up and down tenure in the NFL.

The last time the Seahawks and Cardinals battled over quarterbacks it ended up with the Seahawks trading for Charlie Whitehurst and the Cardinals settling for Derek Anderson. It’s sad to say, but even with the steep price Seattle paid for Whitehurst they did actually do much better then Arizona did.

The same situation may be happening again, at least with two far superior options; Kolb, and Kyle Orton. I just have a feeling the Cardinals are going to be beating down the Eagles door as soon as they are legally allowed to discuss trades and floor them with an offer they can’t refuse.

But what about the uber unappreciated Kyle Orton? Effectively being booted for Tim Tebow after two career seasons and posting some of the best first half passing stats in NFL history last season. If the Seahawks really do end up battling it out with Arizona for these two signal callers, I would hardly call them the loser for settling on the BETTER quarterback.

Any team acquiring Kolb is going to cough up at least a first round pick, and it’s probably going to end up costing an additional 2, 3, 4th rounder. John Elway is practically putting a fore sale sign on Orton; quarterbacks with top 15 statistics don’t get had for third round picks typically. He also draws similarity to Seattle’s own Matt Hasselbeck, an unheralded late round draft pick who had to get traded to flourish.

Not to mention his 2010 statistics are superior to every (potentially) available name amongst quarterbacks, including NFL Top 100 list maker Donovan McNabb, as well as Carson Palmer, and Matt Hasselbeck

If a deal with HisBacksAHassel can’t be reached, please Seattle, pay the modest bounty for a diamond in the rough that really isn’t a diamond in the rough any longer.
