Beast Mode Laughs As He Loses “Best Play” Award

Sitting here with a friend watching the ESPY’s, when the “Best Play” came on, we were both admiring all of the spectacular plays.

When Abbeys goal came up, we both remarked that while it was a good play, it really wasn’t better then any of the other plays.

Rooneys kick was far more impressive, the moment wasn’t, but the play was. If the moment is really having that much sway, they should have separate “Best Play” and “Best Moment” categories.

The arcing and impossible to block goal against the Sounders was also better then a header into the goal. The Desean Jackson run was honestly the one play I thought might beat out Beast Mode.

The fact that Abbey’s kick made it makes me not even upset about it because it was a shoe in and it’s the only thing with national impact amongst the nominees.

It could be argued that was the best moment, but it’s certainly not the best play.

I mean, watch this:

Then watch this:

If anything, the person who got the assist on the goal should be getting the play of the year. At least Marshawn Lynch didn’t appear to care, as he was seen laughing his a** off right after the award was announced.
