Owners, Players To Meet In New York On Wednesday

NFL owners and players will meet face-to-face in New York City on Wednesday, Albert Breer of the NFL Network reports. Lawyers for the NFL and NFL Players Association met separately and jointly today in Manhattan. Those talks have broken for the day, but will resume on Tuesday.

Negotiating teams led by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith will talk on Tuesday, but those sessions will be conducted via conference call. Earlier on Monday, Breer reported that Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson, who is co-chair of the NFL Management Council Executive Committee, and New York Giants co-owner John Mara are likely to participate in the next round of talks.
