Hawks Not Likely to Go After QB Matt Leinart

Despite rumors to the contrary it appears unlikely that Seahawks coach Pete Carroll will reunite with former USC quarterback Matt Leinart. “It just doesn’t seem like a good fit,” one team insider said. “If anything, when you look at what happened to LenDale White and Lawrence Jackson, you have to wonder about just how much stock Carroll puts in USC connections.” The Los Angeles Daily News reported earlier this month that the Seahawks have talked to Leinart, a free agent who served as a backup for the Texans last season after being cut by the Cardinals, about joining them in 2011.
