Can Charlie Whitehurst Lead The Seahawks?

– Tacoma News Tribune

Seahawks fans can imagine the pain Redskins faithful must be in with John Beck going into training camp as the starting quarterback.

Don’t chuckle though, because the Seahawks may ultimately end up pulling a similar move by letting Matt Hasselbeck simply walk and giving control of the offense to the so far bi-polar and largely untested Charlie Whitehurst.

One horrendous showing, and one valiant “game management” effort is what the Seahawks have to go off of.

I’m sure out of Hasselbeck, Donovan McNabb, Kevin Kolb, Kyle Orton, Carson Palmer, Vince Young, and Charlie Whitehurst, most people wouldn’t have Whitehurst among their top five just out of those options; but don’t discount it happening.

John Carlson’s Remarkable Rookie Campaign

Since 2000, only Jeremy Shockey recorded more receptions in his rookie campaign.

Mike Williams On Brock and Salk

Mike Williams hints that the Seahawks are also preparing for player organized workouts with the lockout unlikely to be resolved for at least several weeks.

No Love For Chris Clemons?

SportsNation polls NFC West fans on who the best defensive end in the division is, but whoops I guess they forgot about a top ten pass rusher from last season; Chris Clemons.

Justin Smith? Sure. Chris Long? Maybe. Darnell Dockett? He definitely did not have a better 2010 season the Clemons and you could make a compelling argument that Raheem Brock closed out last season on better terms as well.

NFL Rule Changes

Good for the NFL for taking away the bogus Manning tap rule.
