CB Kennard Cox inked off the practice squad

The Seahawks have signed cornerback Kennard Cox off their practice squad, ESPN’s Mike Sando reports.
Cox fills the roster spot vacated by the trade of Deion Branch to the New England Patriots.

A seventh-round pick (251st overall) out of the University of Pittsburgh by the Buffalo Bills in 2008, Cox has one special teams tackle in six games with the Jacksonville Jaguars between the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Signed by the Seahawks after a tryout in April, Cox (6-0, 191) had five tackles and a fumble recovery during the pre-season, where his blocking on the punt return unit prompted Green Bay Packers safety Derrick Martin to throw punches at Cox, leading to Martin’s ejection and $10,000 fine from the NFL. That also may have helped Cox earn a spot on the 53-man roster.

Inactive in Week 1, Cox was waived on September 14 and re-signed to the practice squad later that week.
