Seattle Not Finished Shaking Roster Up

After the team parted ways with veteran wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh Saturday, the Seahawks have said their goodbyes to two more veterans.

According to the Twitter account of ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Seattle cut running back Julius Jones and defensive back Jordan Babineaux.

Jones joined Seattle following the 2007 season and took over the team’s primary running back responsibilties.  In two seasons with the Seahawks, the 5-foot-10, 210-pound Jones amassed 1,361 yards on the ground and four touchdowns.  His two other scores came last season as a result of being on the receiving end of the team’s passing game.

All six of Babineaux’s season in the National Football League have been in a Seattle uniform.  In that span, he wore multiple hats.  While playing free safety, strong safety and cornerback, he recorded a total of eight interceptions, one interception returned for a touchdown, 24 passes defensed and six fourced fumbles.
