Derek Belt, an avid 12th Man of the Seattle Seahawks passed along this note to us at NFLGridironGab.com and SeahawksGab.com:
I’ve started a Facebook group called “Please Clean the Qwest Field Roof.” Why? Because it’s nasty! We’ve got about 50 members but I definitely need some help promoting the group. The roof used to be white but they haven’t cleaned it in 2 years and now it’s a gross color of gray. I’d like to put pressure on the Seahawks, and nothing speaks louder (besides money) that a passionate group of 12th Man fans.
You know what they say, ‘look good, feel good, play good.” Qwest Field definitely is in need of a good scrub, especially since the Pete Carroll era is getting ready to take off in the Emerald City. To help get the word out with your fellow 12th Man about getting Qwest’s roof white and ready for the 2010-2011 season, head over to Belt’s Facebook group.

I think you may be missing the big picture here. Lets say that we encourage the grime to build up there, then after a couple of years we place a few spores of Vibrio phosphoreum in the center after the rainy season voila we have a green roof that will glow at night. I’m not saying we have to do it. It’s just something to think about.
