Jones the Star After One Half of Play in Seattle
Julius Jones must have read my mid-week column about the running game needing to step up against sub-par rush defenses in four of the next six games.
Jones averaged just under six yards-per-carry in the first half, eating up 46 on eight carries.
Seattle’s lone touchdown score of the half came in the first quarter when Seahawks quarterback Seneca Wallace found Jones for a 39-yard pass and catch.
Jay Cutler started to pick up some rhythm late in the half, finding Earl Bennett and Greg Olsen repeatedly. Cutler connected with Olsen for a one-yard touchdown pass to bring Seattle’s lead down to six points.
At the half, Seattle 13 – Chicago 7.
