49ers Strike First, Three Seattle Starters Go Down.

What a difference a week makes for the 49ers.

San Francisco came out on fire and took a 10-0 lead after the first quarter against the visiting Seahawks. The player of the quarter, and the half, was Frank Gore. Gore has 126 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. His touchdown came on a 79-yard mad dash in the first quarter.

Seattle came back to put up 10 points of their own in the second quarter, but the team’s touchdown just before the half didn’t come without its price. Matt Hasselbeck was hurt by Patrick Willis, as the Seahawks’ quarterback attempted to scramble into the end zone for a score. After trying to get off the field under his own power, Hasselbeck went to one knee and was treated by Seattle’s training staff. He went into the locker room with about minute left on the game clock and Seneca Wallace came in as his replacement. Wallace scored on a 1-yard pass to running back Julius Jones on the following play.

Also injured and out of the game for the Seahawks are Sean Locklear and Lofa Tatupu. Those two appear to be out for the game, but it is unclear as to whether or not Hasselbeck will return in the second half.

At the half, San Francisco 13, Seattle 10.
