The Seattle Seahawks have signed G/T Brandon Frye, who had been waived this week by the Miami Dolphins. Frye was active for 7 NFL games last year and is a graduate of VA Tech. He was drafted in the 5th round by the Houston Texans in 2007, and was claimed off their practice squad by the Dolphins last year. He is tall enough (6′4”) to be listed at right tackle for the ‘Phins, but his athleticism projects better at guard for the zone-blocking ‘Hawks.

Seattle released LT Kyle Williams to make room on the 53 man roster. Its possible that Williams will be a member of the Seahawks practice squad when the 8-member group is announced later today.

So far, the practice squad will include RB Devin Moore, WR’s Logan Payne and Mike Hass for certain. Some other possible members would be QB Jeff Rowe, OT’s Williams and Na’Shan Goddard, G Brian De La Puente, Safeties Nate Ness, Courtney Greene and Jamar Adams, and LB Dave Philistin.

The Seahawks are likely set on their 53-man roster at this point. The addition of Frye today helps with depth on the offensive line which will be without starting C Chris Spencer and Hall of Fame LT Walter Jones for at least the first week.
