Seahawks’ Starting Line-Up Takes Another Hit from the Injury Bug

Hold your breath Seahawks fans, things could get ugly in a hurry.

According to the Associated Press, Seattle’s starting center, Chris Spencer, got hurt in Saturday’s preseason victory over the Denver Broncos. Spencer will undergo tests to determine the severity of the injury to his left quadriceps muscle.

Seattle’s offensive line is already hurting thanks to the absence of all-pro left tackle Walter Jones. Jones had surgery earlier in the week to clean up his left knee and could be out for an extended amount of time.

Sean Locklear played with the first-team offensive line Saturday in place of Jones.

Max Unger could see time at center in place of Spencer if the starter has to miss a prolonged period of time. Unger was a two-time First Team All-Pac-10 selection at the center position while playing for the University of Oregon.
