Mike Sando of ESPN.com reported last Friday that the Seahawks have parted ways with long snapper Bryan Pittman.
Pittman is a local product, who played at Thomas Jefferson High School in Auburn, WA and for the Huskies at the University of Washington. This leaves newly signed Kevin Houser as the team’s only long snapping option heading into Friday’s start to training camp. (Rookies report Thursday.)
Also, ProFootballTalk.com reported yesterday that the Seahawks have signed third round pick Deon Butler, WR out of Penn State, to a four year contract. Butler’s signing bonus is $680,750 and can make over $3 million if the receiver can hit all his contract escalators.
I wrote about Butler last week. That feature story can be found here.
