Danny O’Neil of The Seattle Times is reporting that Seahawks are hosting long snapper Kevin Houser. O’Neil writes that Houser is meeting with the Seahawks next Wednesday and will be undergoing a physical and a tryout.
The Seahawks are in need of a permanent long snapper. The Seahawks have relied on veteran Jeff Robinson to fill voids at the position for the past two seasons due to injuries and inconsistent play. (Remember the horrible home game against the Saints on Monday Night Football resulting in a 28-17 loss…yeah…I don’t even need to go into the specifics about the long snapping play in that game.)
The Seahawks released Tyler Schmitt, a 2008 draft pick out of San Diego State, during the offseason and the team also released Ryan Senser.
As of right now, the team has Bryan Pittman on their roster. Pittman played at Thomas Jefferson High School in Auburn, WA and then at the University of Washington.
O’Neil’s report can be found HERE.
