PFT.com has some good news on the Hawks, as it appears that QB Matt Hasselbeck is back to being close to 100%, something he was not most of if not all of 2008. Here’s the story:
One of the biggest questions facing the Seattle Seahawks in 2009 is whether quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will recover from [...]
The Hawks have themselves a new long snapper, as today the team came to terms with unrestricted free agent Bryan Pittman. This move makes a lot of sense. He played in 92 consecutive games for the Texans before serving a four-game suspension to end last season.
The News Tribune reports that the Hawks will be signing Oklahoma State center David Washington. Here’s the blurb from the paper:
The Seattle Seahawks are expected to sign Oklahoma State center David Washington, a rookie free agent who participated in the team’s post-draft, minicamp in May. Washington started three straight seasons at center [...]
For those that may have been wondering, Seattle Times writer Danny O’Neil reports that the Seahawks did not sign any of the players they had in for tryouts during the recent minicamp:

Today’s Seattle Times reports that the Hawks have signed David Kirtman to a one-year deal. He came in for a three-day tryout during the three-day minicamp at the beginning of April, and the team was impressed enough to give him a deal. Kirtman was a fifth-round draft pick from USC in 2006. [...]
Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry told Sporting News’s Bill Eichenberger and other reporters that he had an inkling the Seattle Seahawks might be interested in drafting him with the fourth overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft. Because the Seahawks traded Julian Peterson to the Detroit Lions, Curry thought they could use a linebacker with [...]
Oregon center Max Unger was the 17th selection of the Seahawks in round two of last weekends draft, and the team seems to have big plans for him in 2009. It will be interesting to see how quickly he can get ready for the speed and power of the pro game, as well as [...]
The Hawks kicked off their mini-camp today, and before they took the field released cornerback DeMichael Dizer and long snapper Tyler Schmitt on Friday, leaving 78 players listed on the team’s active roster.
They have a local product trying to make the roster, as linebacker Adam Leonard from Rainier Beach High School is one of nine [...]
