Hawks Will Fight Taking a Tackle w/ the Fourth Pick

If you are a fan of the Hawks taking a high profile offensive tackle with the 4th pick in April’s Draft, your probably going to be letdown when the team does not do as you want. “I have never been fond of the high (pick) offensive lineman,” GM Tim Ruskell said. It’s not a sexy pick and you can’t really show highlights.”

That thought may go against what the Hawks need long term, as Walter Jones is entering his 13th season in 2009 and is 35. Ruskell does not expect to find a Jones in this years draft. “Well, you’re not going to find a Walter Jones, that’s for sure,” Ruskell said. “I can say that right now.” Nevertheless, the line will have to be adressed, and Ruskell and coach Jim Mora may need to do the “unsexy” thing and take a linemen for the sake of the teams future.
