The season is over for center Chris Spencer, who was place on injured reserve today by the Seahawks with a herniated disk in his back.  Reports say that Spencer is hoping he can avoid surgery by resting.  Spencer said he kept playing through a bulging disk that began bothering him in training camp and caused him to miss all but the final preseason game.  “It was bad. I tried to go as long as I can, but when you can’t start feeling your toes you’ve got to back off and take care of it,” said Spencer.  He’s the 11th player to go on IR this season for the Seahawks.
