CB Trufant Has Cracked Bone in Hand; Will Play with It

Injuries continue to be a big issue for the Hawks, and now one of their best defensive players has suffered a cracked bone in his left hand.  Pro Bowl CB Marcus Trufant will play despite the injury, but you have to be worried about the 49’ers going after him just to see if the injury will have any lingering effect on him.  “It’s very, very sore,” coach Mike Holmgren said. “He has a cast on and we’re now trying to evaluate what to put on his hand to protect it. Allow him some comfort, but also allow him to play.”  He hurt the hand colliding with another player during practice on Thursday.  “Just a freak accident, no really big collision or nothing like that,” Trufant said. “Just ran into a guy, kind of ran into him the wrong way and my fingers just got jammed up.”
