The Seattle Seahawks have been rather unlucky on the injury front as their leading wide receiver, Bobby Engram, according to the Associated Press, will miss from 6 to 8 weeks with what is described as a cracked shoulder; this has been confirmed by team head coach Mike Holmgren.  Engram set a Hawks record last season with 94 catches then proceeded to skip offseason minicamps while in a dispute over his current contract - which expires after this season.  In other Seahawks news:

  • Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck also missed practice for the second straight day on Monday; he has a back injury and may not suit for the Hawks’ next preseason game which is against the Chicago Bears on Saturday.
  • The team released former first-rounder Marcus Tubbs after the defensive tackle failed a team physical.  Tubbs was trying to make it back from knee surgery.
