If length of contract means anything in pro football, it usually means that the longer the contract, the better your chances are of starting. On Tuesday night, the Seattle Seahawks signed running back T.J. Duckett to a 5-year contract, according to the Associated Press. Duckett, while with the Detroit Lions last season, rushed for 335 yards; in addition to Detroit, Duckett played for the Washington Redskins and Atlanta Falcons, who selected him 18th overall in the 2002 NFL draft. Duckett in his career has rushed for 2,642 yards and 36 touchdowns.
