Instead of the typical scramble to bring in big-name free agents, the Seahawks are concentrating on re-signing their own free agents before looking for players in the second tier. That effort began last week when the Hawks gave Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Trufant the franchise tag. Right tackle Sean Locklear was given a five-year contract worth a reported $32-million. Left guard Mike Wahle was released from Carolina and then signed a five-year, $20-million-dollar with Seattle.
