The Seahawks designated cornerback Marcus Trufant as their franchise player Wednesday.  The team made the move after failing to agree on a contract during last minute talks.  He will receive a one year salary that is the average of the top five players at his position in the league.  That means he’ll receive almost $9.5-million this season.  Trufant can sign an offer sheet with another team but the Hawks would have the option to either match or receive two first-round draft choices as compensation.
