Posted by Matt Loede on January 10th, 2008 filed in NewsThe third-seeded Seahawks, winners of seven of their last nine, make their sixth trip to Green Bay in the last five seasons, as they take on the second seeded Packers on Saturday, January 12. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m. (PT) and the game will be televised on FOX (channel 13 in Seattle). The winner advances to the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, January 20.
Seattle is 7-9 all-time in the postseason and holds a 6-2 home record, 1-6 road record and an 0-1 Super Bowl record. Seattle looks to win its first playoff road game in 24 years. Seattle last won on the road, 27-20, at Miami in the 1983 AFC Divisional Playoff Game.
This will be the second postseason meeting between the two clubs. The two met in the 2003 NFC Wild Card Game on January 4, 2004, won by Green Bay, 33-27 in overtime. Seattle won the coin toss to open overtime but each team punted once. On Seattle’s second possession, Al Harris intercepted Matt Hasselbeck and returned it 52 yards for the game-winner.
