From Seahawks.comSeattle returns from its Week 8 bye and travels to Cleveland to take on its third opponent from the AFC North this season. The game will be featured in the late 1:05 p.m. (PT) slot and televised on FOX (channel 13 in Seattle).
This will be the 16th all-time meeting between the two teams with Seattle holding an 11-4 advantage, but only the third meeting since 1994. The Seahawks won the 2001 season-opening matchup on September 9 in Matt Hasselbeck’s first-career start by the score of 9-6, won on a Rian Lindell 52- yard field goal with :03 remaining.
In the most recent game on November 30, 2003, Seattle defeated the Browns, 34-7, to improve to 7-0 at Qwest Field en route to a perfect 8-0 home record. Hasselbeck threw for three touchdowns and Shaun Alexander rushed
for one score, and, for the first time in franchise history the Seahawks produced a 300-yard passer, a 100-yard rusher and two 100-yard receivers in a single game.
Seattle is 1-1 this season vs. opponents from the AFC North. The Seahawks defeated the Bengals 24-21 on September 23 and lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 21-0 on October 7. Seattle faces the Baltimore Ravens on December 23 at Qwest Field to round out the division.
This weekend, Hasselbeck needs 196 yards to pass Jim Zorn for secondplace on the team’s all-time passing yardage list.
