Seahawks WR Hackett out indefinitely with ankle injury

The Seattle Seahawks suffered a casualty to their receiving corps as wide receiver D.J. Hackett has been sidelined indefinitely with a high ankle sprain, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.  Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren confirmed the injury to the Post-Intelligencer on Monday.  Holmgren said that he was unsure how much time Hackett would miss, although typically these type of injuries will last anywhere from four to six weeks in length.

Hackett suffered the injury in the Seahawks 20-6 victory over the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers; reserve WR Nate Burleson will for the short-term replace Hackett in the Seahawks’ lineup.  Last year, Hackett earned a starting spot with the Seahawks, based on his 2006 season stats – he caught 45 passes for 610 yards and 4 touchdowns.
