Pro Bowl Tackle Jones Back at Practice

The worry over the absence recently of Pro Bowl left tackle Walter Jones is over, as the big man was back on the practice field for the Hakws Tuesday afternoon. It was the first time since Thursday that Jones was on the field, as he took part in team drills without pads. There was some concern about a sore right shoulder stopping Jones, but coach Mike Holmgren never really addressed the shoulder, instead said he was giving Jones a break for being a vet. Jones seemed happy to be back on the field with his teammates. “I just felt better,” he said. “The trainers did a good job of getting me back and calming my shoulder down. I just wanted to come out here and see how it feels.”
Jones said he could not pinpoint for sure when the shoulder started becoming an issue, but did say that did bruise it against the Chargers in preseason back in 2006 and played hurt with it during the regular season. “I’ve been dealing with this shoulder for a while now, so I know what I have to do to get ready for the season,” he said. It is not known how much, or if there will be any playing time coming for Jones when the team takes the field against the Chargers on Sunday in San Diego.
