Hawks Cutting Off Most Training Camp Access
Posted by Matt Loede on July 19th, 2007 filed in NewsIf you are a fan of watching Seahawks training camp practices in the summer months, then get ready to be upset. You’ll not be rooting very much this year. The Seahawks are allowing their rabid fans the chance to only see two workouts that will be open to the public the entire summer. Those two workouts do include a scrimmage at Seattle Center and one University of Washington practice.
The Hawks did send out a quickly written press release on Wednesday citing Seahawks “space constraints and limited parking around Northwest University.” In other words, it’s a nice way of saying - keep out Sounds like after getting beat in the Super Bowl two years ago and getting bounced out of the playoffs by the Bears last year that coach Mike Holmgren and the team is becoming a little paranoid.
Seattle was always very fan friendly leading up to this year, as from 1997 though last season the teams practices at Eastern Washington University were always open to the fans. Now the clamps are being put down. Next season the team is holding camp in Renton, and they are stating that fans will be able to attend once again. That is until the team comes up with another lame reason why they can’t.
