The Seahawks have their first draft pick in the fold, as the Seattle Times is reporting that fifth-round pick linebacker Will Herring has come to terms on a four-year deal worth as much as $2.35 million.  Herring at 6-foot-3, 221 pounds made the move from free safety to outside linebacker last season season at Auburn, and made first-team All-SEC.  He will attempt to make the team likely this season as a member of the Hawks special team unit.

Herring has both solid speed and good coverage awareness, and according to Hawks d-coordinator John Marshall, that was something that impressed the team.  “He almost comes through you on the phone,” Marshall said. “He almost got upset when I asked him whether he was a hitter: ‘Yeah, I can hit, Coach. Haven’t you seen the film?’ “  Seattle will look to get the remaninder of their draft choices in the fold before camp opens on July 29th.
